A Year in Review: 2021
I'm grateful for the opportunities that 2021 has brought, and am forever grateful to all the support I've received on my journey to be the next Judge of Harris County Criminal Court Number 3.
Here are a few of my favorite campaign wins of 2021
I filed to run for office. This includes successfully submitting petition signatures of Harris County Voters to get on the ballot!
I hosted many firsts for the campaign this year, including a Petition Signing Happy Hour and a Holiday Fundraiser!
I was awarded the 2021 Houston LGBTQ Political Caucus Jim Owen Newcomer of the Year! I'm truly honored and excited to keep up the hard work.
Since announcing, I learned and felt the loving support of my community, friends, and family. Thank you for being part of this journey with me!
I'm humbled and excited for whatever 2022 brings.
Looking ahead: 2022
If you know me, you know I love being a Public Defender because I get to help people who lack the means and opportunity for legal representation. In this role, it is often people on the margins of our society who I serve. As an attorney, I work to be as accessible to my clients as possible. This includes cultural competency, such as speaking Spanish if it's their preferred language, advanced training and experience working with people with mental health illness, substance abuse, and those experiencing homelessness.
While I love my work, I know I can make a powerful impact as a Judge. Because of my own experience as a crime victim; my professional experience advocating for my clients; my volunteer experience with nonprofit organizations; and my academic degrees as a J.D. and Master's in Public Administration, I know I have the tools to be an impartial, fair, and knowledgeable Judge for Harris County Criminal Court at Law No. 3.
May 2022 bring a hopeful Election season and healthy New Year. #Porscha4judge
